DAY 1
Arrive Colombo And Proceed For Negombo. Tour Of Negombo, Chilaw, Muneshwaram & Manawari. Overnight At Negomba. (34 Kms - 30 Mts Drive)

Arrive into Colombo and you will be welcomed and assisted by a representative before you proceed to Negombo. After you check in at the hotel, get fresh and have breakfast. Later Proceed for full day City Tour of Negombo, Chilaw, Muneshwaram & Manawari

 

Negombo is a major tourist destination known for its long sandy beaches and is also the country’s second-largest fish market. Catamaran trips in the sea and boat trips in canal can be organized. Attractions include the remains of Dutch fort built in 1672, as well as centuries-old Portuguese and Dutch houses, administrative buildings, Dutch Canal, churches and the ceiling frescoes of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Bodhirajarama Maha Viharaya (Angurukaramulla Temple.

 

Munneswaram temple is an important regional Hindu temple in Sri Lanka and is in existence at least since 1000 CE. The temple is one of the ancient Pancha Ishwarams dedicated to Shiva and is a collection of five temples, including a Buddhist temple. 

 

Manavari Temple is the first lingam installed and prayed by Lord Rama and till date this lingam is called as Ramalinga Shivam. Rameshwaram is the only other lingam in the world named after Lord Rama. 

 

As per the Legend– Lord Rama stopped at Manavari to install and pray Shivling which is one of the four lingams in Manvari, Thirukoneshvaram, Thiruketheeshwaram, and Rameshwaram in India, as the only remedy to get rid of the “Bramha hathya Dosham as he killed King Ravan who was a Brahmin.

DAY 2
En Route Visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage And The Sacred Tooth Relic (Dālada) Of Lord Buddh, Cultural Show Of Kandy. Overnight At Kandy. (4 Hours)

After Breakfast proceed for Kandy. En-route visit Pinnawala Elephant orphanage which is a 25 acre coconut property sheltering more than 70 orphaned elephants and is 100 kms from Colombo. Do not be surprised to witness baby elephants being bottle fed or moving around freely causing absolutely no harm to anyone. It is rightly a sincere sight to observe how these gentle giants – orphaned are taken care of since 1975 at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. It is a must-visit as it would definitely add an unforgettable experience to your stay in this paradise isle.

 

(Feeding times 9.15hrs,13:15hrs & 17:15hrs , Bathing times 10:00hrs – 12:00 hrs & 14:00 -16:00 hrs ) Up to date, over 20 calves have been born here, and it is surprising to hear that some of its inmates have even seen their grand children during the past few decades!

 

Later visit Herbal Garden and proceed for Dālada Maligai, the Sacred Tooth Relic (Dālada) of Lord Buddha that is the most venerated object of worship for Buddhists.

 

Reach Hotel in Kandy, get fresh and rest for a while. Later in the evening step on to the beat of traditional music & drumming amplified by a cultural show enhancing the rich and vibrant culture of the Wonder of Asia, Sri Lanka.

DAY 3
Visit The Royal Palace, Lankatilaka Temple, Gadaladeniya Temple, Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple, Ramboda Water Falls, Victoria Park, Greogary Lake, Tea Plantations,Bale Bazaar, Famous Golf Church. Overnight At Nuwara Eliya. (80 Kms / 2.5 Hours)

After Breakfast Proceed To Nuwara Eliya. Start Your Tour By Visiting The Royal Palace, Located Near The Temple Of The Tooth, Which Was The Royal Residence King Sri Vikrama Rajasinha. Thereafter Proceed For The Botanical Gardens At Peradeniya. This Garden Is Noted For Its Large Number And Great Variety Of Plants, Indigenous As Well As Introduced. The Gardens Contain Over 4,000 Species And Varieties Making It One Of The Best And Most Valuable Collections In The World. One Of The Main Attractions Is The Orchid House.

 

Later Visit The Lankatilaka Temple, Gadaladeniya Temple, Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple And Proceed For Ramboda Water Falls Which Is The  11th Highest Waterfall In Sri Lanka Situated In Pussellawa Area, On The A5 Highway At Ramboda Pass.

 

Later Check-In To Your Hotel In Kandy And Rest For A While And Proceed For Victoria Park, Indulge In Horse Riding And Boat Riding In Greogary Lake. Thereafter Visit The Tea Plantations Around In Nuwara Eliya To See The Tea Pluckers At Work And Also Visit A Tea Factory To Witness The Manufacturing Process Of The Finest Ceylon Tea. In The Evening Walk Around Nuwara Eliya Town And Also Visit Bale Bazaar. Relax/Own Activities In Nuwara Eliya

 

Nuwara Eliya Is A Beautiful Town Where The British Succeeded In Creating An English Countryside With Homes In Styles From Georgian To Queen Anne, Well-Kept Lawns With Hedges, An Anglican Church And The Famous Golf Course And Beautiful Parks Which Gives The Place An Air Of Nostalgia.

DAY 4
After Breakfast Visit Seetha Amman Temple,Ashoka Vathika & Huggala Botanical Garden, Divurumpola, Gayathri Peedam. Overnight At Nuwara Eliya.

After Breakfast Visit Seetha Amman Temple – Ashoka Vathika & Huggala Botanical Garden ( Optional)

 

Legend – Sita Amman The Stream That Runs From The Hill, Catered To The Needs Of Sitadevi During Her Stay At Ashok Vatika. She Is Said To Have Bathed In This Stream. Now There Is Temple For Lord Rama, Sitadevi, Luxshmana, And Hanuman By The Side Of This Stream. It Is Believed That The Idols Have Been Worshipped At This Spot For Centuries. It Is Interesting To Note That Foot Prints Akin To Lord Hanuman’s Are Found By This River And Some Are Of Small Size And Some Are Of Large Size, Which Tells Us Of The Immense Powers Of Hanuman Transforming Himself Into Any Size. 

 

Later Visit Divurumpola Where Seetha Devi Underwent Agni Pariksha (Test). It Is A Popular Place Of Worship Among Locals In This Area. Dirumpola Means “Place Of Oath In Singhala.  Visit Gayathri Peedam On Your Way Back 

 

Nuvaraeliya Is A Mountainous Town Situated Above 7000 Ft. Above Sea Level At The Central Province In The Island Built Around A Chilly Lake Surrounded By Lush Tea Gardens, Abundant Vegetable Cultivation, Stunning Water-Falls And Virgin Woodland And Is Also Known As The “Little England” For It’s Breezy Atmosphere To The Outside World And The Islanders.

DAY 5
Enroute Visit Anjaneyar Temple, Kelaniya Temple, Evening Free For Leisure And Shopping Activities. Overnight At Colombo.

After Breakfast, Proceed To Colombo. Enroute Visit Anjaneyar Temple. This Is The First And The Only Panchamuga (Five Faced) Anjaneyar Temple In Sri Lanka With A Chariot For Ajanyear. The Chariot Festival Is Held Annually End Dec/ Beginning Of January. 

 

Hanuman’s Mother Is Anjani. Hanuman Is Also Known As Anjan + Aiyar = Anjaneyar In South India (Hamuman In North India). 

 

Later Proceed For Kelaniya Temple Where After King Ravana’s Death, Vibeeshana Was Coroneted As King Of Lanka By Lakshmana. The Kelani River Is Mentioned In The Valmiki Ramayana And Vibeeshana Palace Was Said To Be On The Banks Of This River. You Will Note That Temples For Vibeeshana Are Found Throughout Sri Lanka But No Temples Dedicated For Ravana Exist Which Proves That His Stand Towards Dharma & Justice Made People To Revere Him As A God In Sri Lanka. 

 

Later In The Evening Reach Hotel In Colombo Which Is Like Many Capital Cities In Developing Countries Which Is Fast Changing Its Face.

DAY 6
Visit The Kelaniya Vibhishana Temple, Gangaramaya Temple, Seemamalakaya, Nelum Pokuna Theatre, Bmich And Galle Face Green, Time Free For Leisure And Shopping Activities In Colombo. Depart For Airport. Tour Ends.

After Breakfast, Leave For Colombo Airport. Proceed For A Half Day City Tour – Visit The Kelaniya Vibhishana Temple, Gangaramaya Temple, Seemamalakaya, Nelum Pokuna Theatre, Bmich And Galle Face Green. Later Reach Colombo The Commercial Capital And A Major Port.
